Viewing available OpenFlow resources to reserve

The best way to see which resources are available to book on UNIVBRIS OFELIA is through the Fed4FIRE first level support page:

https://flsmonitor.fed4fire.eu/results/listResources/211/2016/5/6/16:21:45.864/rspec.txt

The first child element in the retrieved RSpec is the “openflow:datapath” which describes the switch DPID as well as the different OpenFlow ports which are available from that switch. These elements are quite important as they need to be specified in the reservation RSpec.

The appearance of the keyword “optical” in the value of the “component_id” attribute of the “openflow:datapath” means that the switch is an optical switch.

To further ease the reading of the advertisement RSpec, two child elements were added to “openflow:link” element: “openflow:source_datapath” and “openflow:destination_datapath”. In each of these new elements, the datapath and port of the switches at the end of the link defined in their parent element are detailed.

It should also be noted that optical links have an additional child element called “openflow:wavelength”. This element specifies the wavelength that can be potentially reserved in that optical link.
